Distinguished delegates, colleagues, and friends,

1.Although I could not be in Beijing with you due to other commitments, I am honored to address the World Internet of Things Convention 2025 through this short video message. First, allow me to congratulate you on this remarkable 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, the World Internet of Things Convention has become a global platform for dialogue, innovation, and cooperation — driving the growth of an intelligently interconnected digital economy.

2.This year’s theme — "Intelligently Interconnected New Economy, Smart Society in the New Era" — perfectly reflects the world we are shaping together. In this new era, the Internet of Things connects not only devices, but people, knowledge, and opportunities — transforming industry, agriculture, energy, transportation, and cities for a smarter and more sustainable society.

3.At the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, we firmly believe that engineering and IoT innovation go hand in hand. Engineers are at the heart of designing, developing, and deploying smart technologies that advance the Sustainable Development Goals and empower communities everywhere.

4.Looking ahead, as we prepare to celebrate World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development on 4 March 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia, under the theme "Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalization", WFEO will launch its Global Hackathon, with the support of UNESCO and in partnership with Engineers Without Borders. This initiative will invite young engineers and students to design creative, technology-driven solutions to pressing global challenges:

• Challenge 1: Blue & Green Planet – restoring and protecting life on land and below water.

• Challenge 2: Circular Innovation – reimagining how we produce, use, and reuse resources.

• Challenge 3: Resilient Cities – designing smarter, more livable urban systems.

5.We believe IoT solutions will play a key role in these efforts — helping monitor ecosystems, optimize resources, and connect intelligent systems for sustainability. I warmly invite all young IoT innovators, whether participating in your conference or joining remotely, to take part in this global WFEO initiative.

6.At this milestone of WIOTC’s 10th year, I am also delighted to extend a warm invitation for the World Internet of Things Convention to join WFEO — as an Associate or even an International Member. This partnership will mark a new era for WIOTC, aligning its impressive work with the efforts of our global federation.

7.Together, we can expand engagement, strengthen global outreach, and enhance contributions to WFEO’s Standing Technical Committees, enriching both the technical and policy dimensions of global dialogue. Such collaboration will amplify innovation, share expertise, and bring the IoT

community even closer to the world’s engineering family — advancing the very issues addressed in your conference today.

8.As we celebrate WIOTC’s achievements, let us look ahead with confidence and cooperation — working together to build a global intelligently interconnected digital economy that supports a smart, sustainable, and inclusive future for all.

Thank you — and congratulations once again to the World Internet of Things Convention on its 10th anniversary.
