首届全球万物智联数字经济可持续发展大会暨2025（第十届）世界物联网大会于11月28-29日在中国北京隆重开幕。国际电工委员会（IEC）主席乔·科普斯发表致辞。

Distinguished leaders, colleagues, and experts,

It's an honor to address you at the World Internet of Things Convention 2025, especially as we celebrate WIOTC's 10th anniversary. 

Thank you to the organizers for inviting me and for your warm welcome. 

As we mark this milestone, I'm delighted to reaffirm the International Electrotechnical Commission’s commitment to advancing the global digital economy and intelligent interconnected society.

The Internet of Things touches countless sectors—from electricity transmission to the devices in our cities and homes, connecting us all. 

This year's theme, "Intelligently Interconnected New Economy, Smart Society in the New Era," captures this perfectly. 

It resonates deeply with IEC's vision of moving toward an all-electric, connected world.

To reach this smart, connected world, standards are essential. They're the invisible infrastructure enabling innovation, interoperability, and trust. 

Without them, IoT's promise cannot be fully realized.

Through our joint work with ISO in the joint technical committee ISO/IEC Subcommittee 41, we develop foundational IoT and digital twin standards, ensuring safety, reliability, and compatibility across applications. 

This committee brings global experts together to address major IoT challenges, namely security, privacy, reliability, resilience, and scalability.

Currently, we're developing the third edition of our reference architecture standard—which provides the global framework ensuring diverse technologies connect seamlessly and securely. 

We're also creating standards for ecological environment monitoring: covering air, water, soil, and living organisms, and supporting sustainability goals.

Recent work addresses digital twin implementation and closely related areas from sensors to industrial automation and cybersecurity.

Combined with artificial intelligence, IoT transforms data into knowledge. 

That's why parallel work in the AI sector addresses both technical and socio-technical considerations.

IoT also supports the renewable energy transition through smart grid applications. 

IEC Standards enable real-time data collection, two-way communication, and monitoring, helping utilities manage decentralized electricity production and troubleshoot outages efficiently.

In smart cities, IoT enhances urban services, transportation, waste management, public safety, and health. 

The ISO/IEC joint technical committee on Smart cities takes a holistic standardization approach. 

Through IEC Systems Committee Smart Manufacturing, we're harmonizing standards for intelligent factories, enabling efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness.

IEC Standards and conformity assessment empower resilient, sustainable, and interoperable digital ecosystems. 

When governments, industry, and standardization bodies work together, we ensure the Internet of Things and the digital economy evolve in inclusive, sustainable, and trustworthy ways.

I commend WIOTC for bringing these stakeholders together at this powerful convention.

On behalf of IEC, congratulations on your 10th anniversary, and best wishes for this convention's success.

物联网已深入影响众多领域——从电力输送系统，到城市与家庭中的各类设备，将我们紧密连接在一起。

本届大会主题“万物智联新经济，智慧社会新时代”精准把握了这一趋势，与IEC建设全电气化互联世界的愿景深度契合。

要实现智能互联的世界，标准不可或缺。标准是激发创新、实现互操作、建立信任的无形基石。若缺乏统一标准，物联网的潜力将难以充分释放。

通过与国际标准化组织（ISO）在联合技术委员会ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41的紧密合作，我们共同制定物联网与数字孪生基础标准，确保各类应用的安全可靠与兼容互通。该委员会汇聚全球专家，着力应对物联网在安全、隐私、可靠性、韧性及可扩展性等领域的重大挑战。

当前我们正在制定第三版参考架构标准——该标准将为全球物联网体系提供实现多元技术安全无缝联接的框架。同时我们正推进生态环境监测标准建设，涵盖大气、水体、土壤及生物群落监测，助力可持续发展目标。近期工作还涉及数字孪生实施，以及从传感器到工业自动化、网络安全的紧密关联领域。

与人工智能融合后，物联网将数据转化为智慧。这正是我们在人工智能领域同步推进技术与社会技术双重标准建设的原因。

通过智能电网应用，物联网支撑着可再生能源转型。IEC标准实现实时数据采集、双向通信与智能监控，助力企业高效管理分布式能源并及时排除故障。

在智慧城市领域，物联网正在提升城市服务水平，涵盖交通出行、废弃物管理、公共安全与公共卫生等领域。ISO/IEC智慧城市联合技术委员会正推行整体性标准化方案。通过IEC智能制造系统委员会，我们正在协调智能工厂标准体系，推动制造业实现高效和可持续，并提升竞争力。

IEC标准与合格评定体系共同构建起具有韧性、可持续且互联互通的数字生态系统。当政府、产业界与标准组织携手合作，我们就能确保物联网与数字经济朝着包容、可持续、可信赖的方向发展。

我高度赞赏世界物联网大会为凝聚各方共识，搭建了这样一个强有力的合作平台。

我谨代表国际电工委员会，祝贺大会成功举办十周年，并预祝本届会议取得圆满成功！
