Recently, He Xuming, Chairman of the World Internet of Things Convention (WIOTC), led a delegation to inspect the Intelligently Interconnected Digital Economy Demonstration City: Baoding, China. The delegation was warmly received by Baoding Mayor Yan Jihong, Vice Mayor Xie Peng, Municipal Government Secretary-General Li Zhiyong, and other relevant officials. Heads of municipal agencies including the Municipal Data Bureau, Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology participated in the study symposium.

Key leaders from the WIOTC Executive Committee, Advisory Committee, Organizing Committee, Demonstration City Evaluation Committee, and Secretariat visited the Baoding Urban Exhibition Center. They inspected digital economy enterprises and institutions such as Great Wall Motors, Baoding Forlinx Embedded Technology Co., Ltd., Baoding Data Element Innovation Center, Datatang Artificial Intelligence Data Industry Base, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) AI Data Processing and Quality Assessment Center. The Baoding Municipal Data Bureau provided significant support for this inspection. Mayor Yan Jihong introduced the development of Baoding’s intelligently interconnected digital economy, the “7+20+N” modern industrial system formulated under the leadership of the Party Secretary, the Digital Baoding strategic plan, as well as the economic and social development strategies and needs set by the Municipal Party Committee and Government. Chairman He Xuming commended Baoding’s achievements in digital economy development, noting that it has laid a solid foundation to serve as a model for global demonstration cities. He proposed suggestions for Baoding to strengthen international cooperation and digital economy innovation, formulate strategies for upgrading and transforming the digital economy to an advanced digital economy, and realize citywide economic and social operations supported and operated by the Internet of Things. He also offered strategic advice regarding Baoding’s future economic and social development towards an advanced digital economy. The symposium jointly explored innovative development of Baoding’s digital economy, aiming to build a global benchmark for advanced intelligently interconnected digital economy, deliver benefits to public smart living and smart production, and enhance international influence and innovation capabilities. A consensus on strategic cooperation was reached.

The inspection and study activities were also attended by WIOTC Executive Committee Vice Chairman Zhang Hua, Su Tao, and He Qiang; WIOTC Advisory Committee Advisor and renowned economist Chen Wenling; and the WIOTC Executive Secretary-General.
